Following are the radiosurgical plate forms are available in Pakistan:

Gamma Knife -ICON -2008

Neurospinal & Cancer Care Institute (NCCI) Karachi Pakistan:

This is the Pioneer institute that started Radiosurgery in Pakistan in 2008.

Gamma Knife Radiosurgery was the ambition of Pakistani Neurosurgeon Prof. A Sattar M Hashim,who took this bold decision to bring this expensive technology in Pakistan. He installed Two Radiosurgery units at his private center known as Neurospinal & Cancer Care Institute(NCCI)Karachi.

Gamma Knife -4C later replaced with gamma knife ICON in 2017.

Synergy-S , Linac based radiosurgery system for brain and body later upgraded with Agility Head in 2020.

Dr Azhar Rashid emerged as a first Radiosurgeon of Pakistan from Oncology community and currently he is serving as Director, Linac Based Radiosurgery at NCCI.

Very wel balanced expert Radiosurgery team started this radiosurgery center in 2008.

Dr Aftab Ahmed (Neurosurgeon), Dr Naveed Ahmed (Radiologist), Mr. Usman Ahmed (Medical Physicist). Currently, Dr Abid Saleem (Neurosurgeon) is running Gamma Knife unit.

NCCI has treated about 3500 patients on Gamma Knife and 2300 patients on Synergy-S during early 2020.

This center is also equipped with 60 Slicer PETCT, 90 cm Bore CT Simulator, 1.5 Tesla MRI, 0.3 Tesla MRI.

Cyberknife

During 2013, another landmark project of Cyberknife Radiosurgery was started by Dr Tariq Mehmood Radiologist at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center ( JPMC). This Center offers free of cost services.

Most recently, another Cyberknife unit is installed at this center.

Currently Three Clinical& Radiation Oncologists, Deptt of Radiologists and associated technologists team are serving here with dedication.
